Updates...

Wow, it has been a while. Lots going on like usual. Nathan still struggles in school, I am studying for my NCLEX finally, Isaiah is going backwards on potty training, Ismene is trying to talk and showing signs of wanting to potty train, and Scott is still at the same job...wishing he could quit. We haven't done a lot due to lack of funds to do much. We did, however, go to the Renaissance faire at the begninning of March. That is my Christmas. There was a guy there dressed up like Captain Jack Sparrow..he had the strange manerisims (i have no idea if that is spelled right). The boys rode horses and ponies. Yes, I was dressed up. And Scott got a costume for next year. Actually, there is another one near by in November...So I have included pictures of our fun day........

We have also adopted a new cat. Unfortunatly, Emma, our pit bull dog, ran away last month. The good thing is she found a very loving home which we are thankful. She was too much for us to handle. Our new cat is adjusting well. Her and our remaining dog Shelby play well together. The cat is named Taffy, but I hate that name. I am trying to figure out a new name for her. I am open to suggestions. That is about all that is new here. I have been horrible about updating this thing, but I will try to do better.

Just a few things....

Well, here I am again updating everyone on our life. The kids are in good health (a cold here and there) and growing so fast. Nathan has been through testing with Sylvan Learning Center so hopefully they will be able to do something to help him with school. Isaiah is finally almost potty trained. We took him out and he pottied in the toilet while we were out and he was fully dressed (the only way I have been able to get him to use the toilet is to let him be naked)! Later we took him out with undies instead of a pull up and he did great!!! I am so excited. He is even waking up with dry diapers!!!! Ismene is getting so big. She is trying so hard to talk like her brothers. Her vocabulary is blossoming right in front of us. She learns new words every day. Scott is still doing his thing. Working with cars and attempting to clean out the garage. That will take a long time. As for me, I have had some changes in my work. Unfortunatly, the Labor and Delivery department I was in has done away with my position. Luckily for me, someone in the cardiac monitoring room put in their 2 week notice. So for 2 weeks or so I will be orienting to that job. So far I love it!!! I like cardiac almost as much as the babies! So hopefully this will work out for the better. I still have not brought myself to start studying again for yet a 3rd attempt at the NCLEX but I will soon. Many of my friends are coming up pregnant. I wish them all the best!!! I am done being pregnant. If I need another baby that bad, I will adopt. Anyway, that is all the updates I can think of right now. Take care all!!!

Not much has been going on for us since I last wrote on here. Ismene's language is picking up a LOT. She of course can say no. Her first word was shoes. Yup, she is very girly..... LOL. She is trying to sing her ABC's but so far has only mastered QRS. And her and Shelby, one of our dogs, have some kind of strange bond together which I love. It is cute to watch them together. Isaiah is STILL in potty training. Not very successfully either. He is definitely ready, but for whatever reason he refuses. He is 3 years old already.....and I am tired of changing so many diapers at home. Ugh. Poor Nathan suffers at school. He is making all F's and it breaks my heart. He isn't doing it intentionally at all. First of all, he is left handed. Left handed kids think very differently. Next, he has ADHD very severely. One thing the doctors haven't diagnosed him with but I seriously believe he has is LD (learning disability). It breaks my heart. It doesn't seem fair he should have to go through all this. He is such a loving boy. Hard to handle at times though. Other than that, everything is still the same.

Christmas & New Years

Christmas for us was pretty good. The kids had a great one! They got some really great gifts. Among their favorites were a Thomas the Tank Engine train table (the off brand one), a fire truck that opens up to a micro machine track, a computer game and a fairy play house. I got a nice new haircut and a really cool food processer that I have been needing. Scott got some clothes and stuff to use on his cool grill he got for his birthday. My mom left town before Thanksgiving so she was not able to be here. Scott's parents visited us just before Christmas. My Mom-in-law and I went shopping and had a really nice time. Unfortunatly, I had to study for my NCLEX exam that I had scheduled for 12/29/08.

Nathan & Isaiah opening Isaiah's aquadoodle thingy

Isaiah got his Iron Man car!!!!!

Nathan got his guitar!!!!

So on the 29th I made the long dreadful drive to Mobile, AL to take that awful test. I sat for 5 hours! I got some very difficult questions so I figured I was in the high level questions. That is good (or so I thought) because you have to get to a certain level of question and stay there to pass. Unfortunatly, I got online on 12/31/08 and paid the extra money to find out the results. For the second time, I failed. Very low blow for me. I am not used to failing. I took it really really hard. But, to my rescue came Scott's family.

On 12/31/08, Uncle Billy, Aunt Mary, and Meme came through Pensacola on their way back to Illinois. They took us out to eat at the Macaroni Grill (which is my new favorite restaurant to eat at). It was wonderful. I really did not want to eat and it took every ounce of energy I had to even smile. But as the dinner went on, it got easier. I was in good company and that helped so much. By the end of the meal, I wasn't even thinking of my awful results. They came to the house, we gave them some of our pictures and visited then they had to be on their way. Ismene went to sleep early (she is NOT a night person) and Scott, me, and the boys stayed up until midnight. We said Happy New Years! and hugged and kissed each other. Then we went to sleep. We were all very exhausted. I may not be having the best start for the year, but I am really hoping it will get better from here.

My grandmother called me 1/1/09 to make sure I was ok. She took it about as hard as I did finding out I failed....again. This isn't me. I don't know what the deal is. She gave me many encouraging words and is trying every way possible to think of ways to come up with money eventually to take the test again. For me, it is going to be a while. A few months or so. The way I feel right now, I just want to give up. But as my sweet friend Jennel said, it is my dream and it would be more devastating to not try again. So for now, I am taking a break. I am not going to study or think about it for a few weeks. Hopefully by then, I will have my inspiration back. That is about all for now.

Ok, so we are new to this. I hope we are figuring it out right. Anyway, this is our Halloween picture from 2008. I think Scott and I were the scariest ones in the picture.....LOL. Kidding. We have had a long road so far but we have stuck together. Now things are smoothing out and we are becoming a solid family.

We hope to update this weekly for friends and family who do not participate in MySpace. Even those who do. Of course, we may not always be able to update that often. Personally, I love when people update information or send little things here and there. It makes my little life feel so full. Well, this is our start for now. Leave us a message or just read the stuff, whatever you like.
